INFO ABOUT BOOK PURCHASES

St. Thomas students purchase their textbooks from MBSDirect.

Please note that all workbooks and similar texts must be purchased new. Other books may be purchased used.

USED BOOK SALE AND EZDROP BUYBACK

St. Thomas will be hosting a Used Book Sale and EZDrop Buyback the Thursday after underclassmen finals are complete. That will be Thursday, May 27, 2010, from 5 - 7 PM in Cemo Auditorium. Bring all your textbooks that you want to sell, along with cash to buy books from others for next year. Returning students (next year’s Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors) will be able to find your schedule requests for next year on Edline on Monday, May 17, so that you know which courses to buy textbooks for.

Additionally, we are adding an EZDrop Buyback to this event. What this means is that you can also sell back your used books to our online bookstore. In order to do this, though, you must go to the MBSDirect virtual bookstore, log in by clicking the "Sell My Books" button, and go through the process to print out a buyback quote.

You then must bring that buyback quote with you to the book sale on May 27, 2010,, and we will box up your books and ship them back for you. Please note these conditional requirements per MBSDirect. MBS will only buy back textbooks in good condition. After processing, you will receive a check in about two to three weeks. If you print out a buyback quote but end up selling one or more of the books, you can still use this service to sell back your remaining books on the quote list.

2010 - 2011 BOOK LISTS

This book list is provided to help you in purchasing and ordering your books. If you buy your books through MBSDirect, the school’s official bookstore, you do not need this information to receive the proper books. If you choose to buy your books through another supplier, please use the ISBN as your guide to getting the correct edition. Also take note of new editions being used, and where books from last year are no longer being used (these are listed on the “Do Not Buy” lists included in the attachments below). All workbooks and some other texts must be purchased new, but in some cases books are used that have already been purchased from a previous year. These are also noted on the lists.

*Incoming Freshmen: although your finalized schedule will not be available until it is mailed to you during the summer, you should be able to begin purchasing books if you wish to do so. The primary textbooks for Theology, English, and History are the same for both advanced and regular levels. You should also recall what foreign language you selected, as well as which math course (Algebra 1, Geometry, or both) you are taking.

SUMMER READING BOOKS

Summer reading books are now available to purchase at our virtual bookstore through MBSDirect. See the Summer Reading page to view the list of required books and download study guides.

P.E. UNIFORMS AND STH GEAR

The required P.E. uniform and other optional spirit wear may also be purchased online. Students, relatives, alumni, and friends of St. Thomas are encouraged to shop for their STH Clothing Online.

TEXTBOOKS FOR SALE IN THE EAGLE SHOP

The Eagle Shop has a limited number of textbooks for sale at significantly reduced prices. Remaining stock will also be on sale at the Used Book Sale on May 27, 2010 (details below).

ONLINE TEXBOOK ORDERING THROUGH MBSDIRECT

All sales will be handled through MBSDirect. Refer to these instructions for ordering your books online. The MBSDirect customer service phone number is 800-325-3252.

In most cases students will be able to purchase new or used textbooks. Orders may be placed directly online, by phone or fax, or by printing an order form and mailing it through the regular mail, and will be shipped to your residence promptly. Payment by check, money order, or credit card accepted. Returns for a full refund are allowed within 30 days of purchase.

SELLING TEXTBOOKS BACK THROUGH MBSDIRECT

Books may be sold back to MBS through a buyback day at school or postage-free through UPS after the second semester exams on the MBSDirect Web site. Click on the icon to go to the STH Online Bookstore and click on the "Sell My Books" button on the homepage.
