Graduated from St. Thomas High School, 1937. Attended University
of Texas; recieved wings in civilian flying course at University of
Houston; flew 197 missions as fighter pilot in World War II.
Received highest military honor of French government, Croix de Guerre
(AVEC PLIJME) 1943. Awarded American Silver Star, and distinguished
flying cross on two occasions. First single-engine fighter pilot to
be catapulted off an aircraft carrier, August, 1942.
Discharged from Air Force, 1948 with rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Joined Schill Steel Company, his father's business, in February 1948.
Now President of Rollform Corporation.
