LIBRARY

The St. Thomas High School Library supports and participates in the educational mission of St. Thomas by providing access to information resources, teaching students to be independent users of information, and encouraging familiarity with academic library settings.

The librarian provides information literacy instruction and database research assistance to individuals and classes. The library’s holdings of print books and magazines, as well as almost fifty online subscription databases, provide the St. Thomas community access to thousands of books, primary sources and academic journal articles on a wide range of subjects that support curricular needs and encourage leisure reading.

Please use our STH Book Catalog (linked below) to search our in-house library resources. Additionally, students have access to ebooks and audiobooks through the STH digital library on the Sora app.

Houston Area Independent Schools Library Network (HAISLN) is an organization of librarians from independent school in the Houston, Texas area. Each year, members collaborate on recommended reading lists for students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade. Lists include both fiction and nonfiction books by some of the best authors for children and young adults.

The Texas Library Association (TLA) expertly curates reading lists and programs for all ages from fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels, to picture books, bilingual, and multicultural lists. For high schoolers interested in graphic novels, we particularly recommend looking at the titles on the Maverick graphic novels list.
