St. Thomas High School Golf Invitational
benefiting the Jimmy Burke Endowed Scholarship
and St. Thomas High School

The 17th annual St. Thomas High School Golf Invitational was held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at BlackHorse Golf Club.  Over 200 golfers played, including several alumni teams representing the 50’s through the 90’s, and a record-setting number of 18 father-son teams. This year was another success, bringing in just over $40,000.00 in net proceeds.

The Jimmy Burke Endowed Scholarship was established in 1991 in honor of Jimmy Burke '50, whose life ended tragically in a traffic accident in 1990; Burke was a popular alumnus and the Golf Professional at Champions Golf Club in Houston for 33 years. Proceeds raised from the tournament are dedicated to help qualified young men who financially could not otherwise afford to attend St. Thomas High School. Since 1991, the total proceeds exceed $200,000.
