Gifts & Donations Policy

Monetary Gifts
Occasional monetary gifts, unless otherwise specified, are applied towards the purchase of books at the discretion of the librarian. Whenever applicable, memorial plates or gift plates are attached to the fly leaf of those books. A letter of acknowledgment and appreciation is sent to the donor. A separate letter is sent to the family of the deceased after whom the memorial is set up.

Gifts In-kind
Donated materials in any format are always gratefully accepted with the stipulation that the Library Media Specialist will determine to keep only those items suitable to the library’s purpose and needs. The librarian will forward any items which are not usable to any of the following institutions: Women’s Crisis Center, Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries or the Texas Department of Corrections.

Whenever applicable, memorial plates or gift plates are attached to the fly leaf of those books. A letter of acknowledgment and appreciation is sent to the donor. When necessary, a letter for income tax purposes may be written from the Development Office.
