Mission, Philosophy, and Scope
MISSION STATEMENT
The Richard T. Schill Learning Resource Center (LRC) exists to assist the St. Thomas High School community in their search for truth, knowledge, and aesthetic, spiritual, recreational experience. An integral part in the implementation of the school curriculum, the LRC’s program aims to enable the students to be independent, wise users of information today and long after they graduate.
PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS
The Learning Resource Center - through its staff, resources and services - participates in the teaching-learning program of St. Thomas High School within and without the classroom walls. It is a place for reading enjoyment. It provides the most current teaching-learning tools necessary for a first-rate education. The school Archive maintains the historical records of the school’s evolution and the treasured stories, photos, memorabilia of those who already had the advantage of attending St. Thomas.
SCOPE AND NATURE OF COLLECTION
The collections maintained in the LRC are those of educational value and those that support the instructional goals of St. Thomas High School. The materials, in varying format and subject matter, are those appropriate for the age, emotional and social development, ability and reading levels and learning styles of the students.
