Students Earn Accolades For Essays

Twelve St. Thomas students were honored for outstanding submissions in the Archdiocesan Essay Contest. On Friday, an award ceremony was held at the University of St. Thomas and the students were congratulated by Cardinal DiNardo, Superintendent Sister Kevina Keating, and UST President Dr. Robert Ivany.
The theme for the contest was "How Does One Find Peace and Hope in a World of Conflict?" The competition was broken up by grade level, with over three thousand essays written by area Catholic school students in grades 3 through 12. St. Thomas students turned in 284 essays for the high school competition.
