Important Announcements

Edline & IRIS Access for 2008-2009 School Year:
St. Thomas High School employs two systems, Edline and IRIS, for assisting with efficient communications regarding important school and emergency information, respectively.

Edline is the system used to provide students and parents with 24/7 access to important school information such as grades, LAPS, class notes, PowerPoint presentations and other classroom materials. The Immediate Response Information System (IRIS) is used to take a recorded or text message from an authorized school administrator and send it to multiple e-mail addresses and phone numbers at once. All St. Thomas families are encouraged to register in both systems.

During Freshman & Transfer Orientation on Tuesday, August 12, detailed instructions and activation codes for Edline and IRIS will be distributed to the parents of freshman and transfer students. Returning families who registered for both systems last year should still have active accounts. If for any reason an existing account has become deactivated, detailed instructions and activation codes will be distributed during the opening week of school to those with inactive accounts.

Mothers' Club Email & Edline Page Notice:
If any mothers within the STH community are not receiving email messages from the Mothers' Club, and would like to be included on that mailing list, please forward your email address to STH Mothers' Club Corresponding Secretary Carol Rynd .

Remember to visit the Mothers' Club Edline page for all details regarding all Mothers' Club activities and to stay in the loop!

Prayer/ Campus Ministry Announcements for March 6, 2009

Friday of the First Week of Lent

Prayer Intentions:

For these 40 days of Lent, may they be a time of spiritual renewal and peace

For all of our parents and loved ones living with cancer and other illnesses

For Fr. Schwenzer’s recovery from cancer surgery

For peace and justice in our world

Prayer:The Road Ahead

MY LORD GOD, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.                                         - Thomas Merton, "Thoughts in Solitude"

St. Thomas Aquinas… pray for us!

Scripture verse:         Ezekiel 34: 11-14

For thus says the Lord GOD: I myself will look after and tend my sheep.

As a shepherd tends his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so will I tend my sheep.  I will rescue them from every place where they were scattered when it was cloudy and dark.  I will lead them out from among the peoples and gather them from the foreign lands; I will bring them back to their own country and pasture them upon the mountains of Israel
