She may be a new face to the counseling department at St. Thomas High School, but St. Thomas High School is not new to her. Born in Costa Rica, but she grew up in Houston, TX, attended Duchesne High School, and met her husband through a St. Thomas High School alum.
Kristine comes to St. Thomas after 10 years at YES Prep Public Schools where she served as a teacher, Grade Level Chair, Intervention Specialist, and most recently, Director of Counseling. During her years as Director of Counseling, she started the first counseling department at YES Prep West campus, and worked with our new Director of Counseling, Chelette Stephenson.
When she is not working, her favorite things to do are spend time with her family and work out. She has run 3 half-marathons and is an active member of Orange Theory Fitness.
She is very excited to be joining the staff at St. Thomas. “I’ve loved getting to know all the young men and their families. Though I was involved with St. Thomas throughout high school, I love seeing it through a different eye. It’s really special how the ambiance continues to be the same. It feels like I’m back home,” said Meier.
