This week’s teacher spotlight is St. Thomas High School Math teacher, Mary Cassaro! While many of you may recognize her as a Math teacher at St. Thomas High School, she also bares many other hidden talents.
Mary grew up in Houston and went to Incarnate Word Academy for high school. While attending Incarnate Word Academy, she was involved in the Theatre and Drama department at St. Thomas High School. Having had a brother attend St. Thomas, she has long felt deeply rooted in the school’s community. Mary knew in middle school that she wanted to be a math teacher and to eventually work at St. Thomas. She has now been teaching math here for the past eight years. Some of her favorite things about St. Thomas include the camaraderie, the brotherhood, and the football games.
When she is not teaching, Mary enjoys baking in her free time. Last year, she decided to start her own business, Fiorellino’s Bakery. This new venture came into fruition over this past summer, and she has enjoyed every minute of it so far. Some of her most popular desserts include, carrot cake and chocolate chip cookies. Her goal is finding a way to allow her to do something that she enjoys while bringing happiness to others.
