“St. Thomas prepares me to achieve my academics and personal goals by pushing me out of my comfort zone. Brotherhood at St. Thomas means that someone always has my back and I am never alone. I have already made lifelong friendships through the brotherhood at this school.

St. Thomas has also fostered my faith journey by actually giving me people who lead by example in their Faith. I am able to further myself in my Faith through the tools provided at St. Thomas, and I am not even Catholic.”

Heriberto Villegas
Class of 2021

“The academic courses at St. Thomas are challenging but are preparing me for the next level of education. I’ve learned to be more disciplined and focused with my school work and studies. At first you feel overwhelmed with all the homework, but you learn how to use your time wisely, which is critical in college.

The brotherhood of St. Thomas is one of the great qualities that this school possesses, offering a strong peer support system and friendships that are developed. You never feel unwelcome around people at St. Thomas, everyone you talk to is your friend.

St. Thomas is teaching me different perspectives of my faith that are important for understanding and accepting people for who they are. Taking theology classes have widened my understanding for the Catholic faith”

Seth Dietz
Class of 2019

“St. Thomas prepares me by offering challenging courses while at the same time still providing the one on one help from each teacher. The AP classes allow me to think more critically in school, and with the help of other classes like philosophy I have grown to take a new perspective and think more critically on things in the world.

To me, the brotherhood at St. Thomas means friendship and community, it means never having to go through something, whether it be in school or at home in your personal life, alone.”

Jean Paul Nguyen
Class of 2020

“The St. Thomas Brotherhood is one of the greatest things I have ever experienced in being a “Man of St. Thomas.” This is the most pivotal part to the culture of STH because the Eagle Brotherhood is what bonds all of us together. Without the Brotherhood, St. Thomas would just be some other private, Catholic high school in Houston. The Brotherhood is what truly shapes St. Thomas and what makes it one of the greatest institutions in the world.”

Jacob Walker
Class of 2022

“St. Thomas has provided me with many resources such as the L.E.C, tutors and a personal counselor which all aid me in succeeding in my classes and preparing for college. With the new development of the STEM building and format of each classroom, we get taste of what learning in a college classroom will be like.

St. Thomas fosters my faith with monthly mass, an optional weekly mass, theology class, and making goodness, discipline, and knowledge the core of our foundation. I believe the brotherhood at St. Thomas is stronger than at any other school. Here we are all close and that means we can form more impactful relationships.”

Ian Wheeler
Class of 2019

“St. Thomas has some of the most vigorous and challenging academics I’ve experienced in my school year. Academically, I’ve grown into a student with a good work ethic that is applicable in both my future education, career, and other facets of my life. Here, teachers aren’t teaching for us to get the correct answer. They’re teaching us so that we have the skills to find the correct answer. Nothing is given to us here, we have to work to find it.

Coming from a public school, I was never immersed into a school that combined education and faith. I have learned so much about God and through that have learned what he is to me in my life and how it affects my life and my perspective every day. The St. Thomas Brotherhood means helping freshmen at AIM, winning football games with your brothers, and creating friendships with people you never thought you would be friends with. The brotherhood is what makes this school amazing.”
