Iron Eagle Athletics – Train with top coaches and sharpen your skills in a variety of sports, including football, baseball, soccer, and cross country. Open to St. Thomas High School students looking to improve their performance and compete at a higher level.

College Application and Essay Program — Class of 2027 

The St. Thomas High School Counseling Team is excited to offer our annual College Application and Essay Program for the Class of 2027 in the Houston area.

Course Modules

Module 1: Brainstorming, Storytelling, and Personal Statement Development

Module 2: Revising and Strengthening Your Essay

Module 3: Supplemental Essays, Résumés, and SRAR Best Practices

Module 4: Application Planning, Naviance Processes, Application Review, and Submission Strategies

3-Day College Application & Essay Camp ($200)

This comprehensive program provides students with the tools, guidance, and feedback needed to create a strong college application and personal statement. The curriculum combines resources from the STH Counseling Team and College Essay Guy.

1-Day Application & Essay Workshop (5 Hours) $100

This workshop is designed for students who want focused guidance and resources to complete their applications independently.

Workshop Includes

  • Review of the Common Application
  • Supplemental essay planning
  • Résumé and SRAR guidance
  • Access to College Essay Guy brainstorming tools
  • Digital workbook for self-paced work
  • Opportunity to submit essays for feedback and review

Students will leave with a clear plan for completing their college applications and essays with confidence.

Credit Recovery Courses – Designed for students who need to retake a course and strengthen their understanding of core subjects to stay on track for graduation.

Original Credit Courses – Get ahead with summer courses in core subjects and electives. Earn high school credits in an accelerated format to create more flexibility during the school year.

This 2-week skill building course will set your incoming freshman up for success by building a toolbox of strategies to help him at St. Thomas High School. Students who may struggle will have the opportunity to fill some “gaps” and he will be ready to tackle the more abstract concepts that are taught at the high school level. Basic skills will be enhanced and expanded to include in-depth practice with order of operations, translating mathematical expressions, solving linear equations and inequalities, and identifying or graphing proportional functions and its applications. Students will be encouraged to justify their reasoning with multi-step problems using both words and numbers. While working through mathematical challenges, students will develop focus with a growth mindset and learn perseverance when confronted with more complex problems. Students should complete this course ready to start their ninth grade year!

In this skill building course, set your incoming freshman up for success with a toolbox of strategies to help them flourish at St. Thomas High School. Students who may have struggled in middle school, or those who just want a head start, will have the opportunity to fill some “gaps” for next school year and be ready to tackle concepts that are taught at the high school level. Throughout the course, students will continue to develop skills in grammar, usage, and composition. They will concentrate on organizing arguments logically, effectively supporting their claims, and properly incorporating source material into their writing. Students will develop the ability to analyze, discuss, and write about literature. The first week will focus more on grammar and annotating writing prompts while the second week will focus on reading comprehension as well as answering text based questions and using textual evidence.

Step Up Study Skills

Coed course for rising 9th graders to prepare for the rigors of high school and beyond.

Step Up Study Skills provides students with the foundation and tools necessary for success. Enrollment includes class notes and instruction in these 5 units:
